White Sox Are Sixth Team In MLB History To Hit Four Consecutive HR

By Administrator | August 14, 2008

This afternoon in Chicago, the White Sox became the sixth team in MLB history to hit back-to-back-to-back-to-back home runs… the last time the feat was accomplished was April 22nd of last year, when the Red Sox hit four straight home runs against Chase Wright of the NY Yankees.

The ChiSox tied the record in the sixth inning of today’s game against the KC Royals at US Cellular Field, in Chicago. Jim Thome started the barrage with a three-run HR against reliever Joel Peralta… Paul Konerko and Alexei Ramirez then homered off Peralta, as well.

Kansas City manager Trey Hillman then brought Robinson Tejeda into the game to put an end to the onslaught. He was greeted by Juan Uribe, who tied the record with a home run of his own.

Chicago won the game, 9-2.
