In 1988, Dodgers ace Orel Hershiser limited the A’s to four singles in Game 5 of the World Series as Los Angeles won the World Series, 4 games to 1.
In 2002, twenty-year old reliever Francisco Rodriguez became the youngest pitcher in history to win a World Series game… with 15 days of major league experience, K-Rod retired nine consecutive batters in three innings to pick up the victory in the Angels 11-10 win over the Giants.
In 2004, I was sitting in the fourth row of the Tier Boxes at Yankee Stadium as the Red Sox became the first team in baseball history to win a best-of-seven series after losing the first three games… the Sox beat the Yankees,10-3, behind Johnny Damon’s hitting (two home runs, including a 2nd inning grand slam) and Derek Lowe’s pitching.
