Already recognized as the AL Rookie of the Year, Fred Lynn became the first ROY to also win the MVP award in a landslide vote. Lynn hit .331, with 21 HR and 105 RBI. He led the league in slugging (.566), runs (103) and doubles (47). He also won a Gold Glove Award for his play in the field.
