Curve Ball: Henry Indicates Sox Will Not Be In On Teixeira
By Administrator | December 18, 2008
Earlier today, Red Sox owner John Henry, owner / team president Larry Lucchino and general manager Theo Epstein flew to Houston, Texas, to meet with uber-agent Scott Boras about bringing free agent Mark Teixeira to Boston.
But after meeting with Boras this evening, Henry dropped a BOMB on Red Sox Nation. He sent the following e-mail to media members: “We met with Mr. Teixeira and were very much impressed with him. After hearing about his other offers, however, it seems clear that we are not going to be a factor”.
Is it posturing for Boras, or does it mean the Red Sox are really moving on? Time will tell…
