Around Baseball: A Big Night For The PED-Twins
By Administrator | July 3, 2009
Rafael Palmeiro was inducted into the College Baseball Hall-of-Fame tonight, in Lubbock, TX… it is likely the only HOF he’s going to be enshrined in.
In an interview conducted with ESPN’s Pedro Gomez earlier in the day, Palmeiro continued to deny he knowingly took performance enhancing drugs: “I’ve heard a lot of things out there that are wrong. People say I took drugs all my life, (but) I’ve never touched anything. I worked my butt off my whole career, as a kid, in college, in the big leagues. I didn’t need anything, I didn’t have to cheat at the end of my career, for what? What was I going to gain from it? Whatever I took was tainted, had to have been. There’s no other reason (for the positive test) — unless I got set up“.
Tainted? Set up? What was there, a vast right-wing conspiracy to keep a hispanic out of the Hall of Fame?
Raffy, give it up! NO ONE believes you. You cheated. You got caught. It’s over. Move on.

Manny Ramirez’ fifty-game suspension for PED use ended yesterday. Tonight in San Diego, ManRam was back in the Dodgers lineup for the first time since the suspension was imposed.
In a pre-game press conference, the increasingly arrogant and obnoxious left fielder arrived wearing sunglasses, with his dreadlocks pulled back in a ponytail. He repeatedly refused to answer questions about steroids, making like Mark McGwire before Congress.
He gave a disingenuous apology to the fans.
He thanked Dodgers owner Frank McCourt and his teammates for their support.
Then he was repeatedly asked about his suspension. Manny wouldn’t bite.
“I don’t want to get into my medical records right now”.
“That’s a thing of the past”.
“My lawyer spoke to (Major League Baseball). I don’t want to keep bringing the topic up every single day”.
Yeah, okay Mark… I mean, Manny.
This guy was never smart enough or introspective enough to be embarrassed about anything he’s ever done… why should he start now? For all of you Dodgers fans who cheered for him tonight - shame on you!
