This Day In Red Sox History: March 19, 1986
By Administrator | March 19, 2010
Material for This Day In Red Sox History is drawn from Bill Nowlin’s “Day by Day with the Boston Red Sox”
After the Red Sox released utilityman Ed Jurak, the now-former player carped: “They never gave me a chance to show what I could do.”
Jurak apparently felt he hadn’t been with the club long enough… he’d only been in the system since being drafted by the Sox on June 3, 1975!

Hey Sox1Fan!
Alas poor Ed! We knew him, but not so well…
I wish I could spend 11 years with any MLB club and not really ever get a chance.
My late friend, Russ Gibson, was forever grateful for his years with the Sox. Never played a lot, but loved every minute of it!
