Boston Trade Market — July 31st, Part 3: Gagne A Sox?

ESPN is reporting that the Red Sox and Rangers have agreed on a deal that will bring Texas closer Eric Gagne to Beantown…

The teams are apparently waiting for Gagne to waive the ‘no trade’ provisions in his contract… which may be dependent upon Theo Epstein and Scott Boras re-working the righty’s contract to his liking (changing the ‘games-finished’ provision to an ‘total appearances’ provision).

ESPN says that, if the deal is approved, the Sox will send pitcher Kason Gabbard and outfield prospects David Murphy and Engel Beltre to Texas in exchange for Gagne.

There are 37 minutes remaining until the deadline… we’ll know soon enough.
